The NGO Campaign on the Asian Development Bank
By Antonio Quizon and Violeta Perez-Corral

Manila: ANGOC, 1995, 74 p.
ISBN 971-8632-23-9

Realising the need to reflect on the past and present advocacy work of NGOs with the Asian Development Bank, this study, the first of its kind, represents a collective effort to examine ADB's role as the Asian region approaches the next millennium with the calls for sustainable development and people's participation. The study likewise narrates the story of the NGO campaign for the past seven years, in terms of broadening public awareness on the social and environmental impacts of Bank policies and development approaches.

Economy, Ecology and Spirituality:
Toward a Theory and Practice of Sustainability

Manila: ANGOC, 1993. 37 p.
ISBN 971-8632-182

This study presents the outlines of an alternative theory and practice premised on the idea that the sustainability crisis is a direct consequence of development's contribution to disintegration. The disintegration is characterised by traces of human species becoming alienated from its spiritual connection to nature and community. The alternative theory offers a sustainable social practice that must decentralise and distribute economic power in ways that facilitate the restoration of this connection.

Two Generations of NGO Workers in the

Philippines

Ed. Margarita A. Lopa
    Manila: ANGOC, 1995, 96 p.

This publication puts together the collective

experiences, ideas and reflections of the

twenty-two leaders of the Philippine NGO

movement who gathered at scenic Mt.

Makiling in Laguna, to reflect on the past 35

years of struggle and engagement in the

NGO and social development movement. It is

also an attempt to discuss further on what

has been achieved by NGOs, the impact of

these accomplishments on the people they

work with, accomplishments on the people

they work with, and the exciting innovations

being undertaken by NGOs in the various

fields in which they operate. The twenty-two

leaders who participated in the reflection-

retreat represent two generations of NGOs

personalities with extensive involvement in

development work from the Marcos to the

Aquino era.
