About the Program

The Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), through its Third Country Training Program (TCTP), has organized a Regional Training Course on Enhancing Access to Land for the Rural Poor, with the aim to contribute in developing the capacities of Asian NGOs in poverty eradication through community action. This Training Course is being organized in response to various land-related issues faced by the poor communities in the region.

ANGOC believes that the participants would learn a lot from past and present programs and approaches on improving access to land for the poor in different parts of Asia, which could enhance their own land-related initiatives. The ANGOC Network also hopes to revive national and international commitments and partnerships to pursue land rights as a basic precondition for rural development
