The Training Program aims to enhance the capacities of the participants in field action,
participatory research and multi-stakeholder partnership and to renew commitments and
reintegrate plans for better access to resources by rural communities. It is designed to
provide knowledge based on experiences in agrarian reform implementation and other land-related
initiatives across Asia. The framework, approaches, tools and cases adopted have been
carefully selected and developed through a Participatory Workshop Process that highlighted
the major land reform initiatives in the region.
At the end of the Training Program, the participants are expected:
To have gained an understanding of basic concepts and principles of resouce rights
and land-related issues, trends and policies in Asia;
To have enhanced ability to assess and apply land reform approaches, models and basics
in community organizing;
To design participatory training programs on enhancing community access to land; and
To develop local action plans for enhancing the poor's access to land
