About The Program

The Training Program is a regional capacity-building program that involves the exchange of technologies and approaches, aimed and designed to support community actions and actors to eradicate poverty and hence, create long-term impacts on poor households and communities. Capacity-building and exchange programs among Asian NGOs and community-based organisations will enable a more effective response to the challenges of food insecurity and poverty in Asian rural communities.

Three modules will be completed in three years (2004-2006), which focus on issues significant to household food security and poverty as revealed by the 200-Village Project Baseline Survey. Enhancing the capacity of NGO and PO workers in dealing with the challenges on these critical issues as they operate at the community and household level would greatly contribute to successful food security and anti-poverty interventions.
